All of the following prerequisites must be met in order to successfully install and use IFBI If any of the following requirements are not met, some or all of IFBI's functionalities will not work as designed.
IMPORTANT: You must be logged on to your server as the LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR during installation. You can use the software as a normal user after installation is complete, but we highly recommend that you carry out the installation process as a LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR in order to ensure trouble-free use afterwards.
Server Side
The prerequisites listed in this section pertain to the server that will execute the Gizmos and Reports. Prerequisites for the web application side of IntelliFront BI can be found further down this article under the section 'Web Application Side.'
Operating System - Main
The following servers are compatible and supported. All servers should have the latest service packs applied.
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2016
Operating System - Additional
- Installation must be run as an administrator
- User Account Control (UAC) must be turned off (Windows Server 2008)
- .NET Framework 4.5.2 must be installed
- It needs to be on a multi-core CPU (4 core or more recommended)
- At least 20 GB of free disk space on your primary drive
- Minimum 16GB of Memory/RAM
User Account Controls (UAC) only need to be turned off for the installation of Intellifront BI. Once Intellifront BI is installed, you may turn UAC back on.
Note: Intellifront requires more than 8 GB of data to operate successfully.
Operating System - Server Roles
The following server roles will be enabled during the installation of IntelliFront BI. Based on the security settings of the server some of the roles may not be enabled during installation, therefore, please ensure the following options within the Server Manager, under Server Roles are enabled:
- .NET Extensibility 3.5
- .NET Extensibility 4.5
- Application Initialization
- ASP.NET 3.5
- ASP.NET 4.5
- ISAPI Extensions
- ISAPI Filters
SQL Server
The following versions are currently supported.
- SQL Server 2008 R2
- SQL Server 2012
- SQL Server 2014
- SQL Server 2016 or later
IntelliFront BI will install a SQL Server 2016 Express instance by default. Any of the above SQL Server versions can be used if you are adding the database to a SQL Cluster.
SQl Server - Additional
- Filestream must be enabled and configured (How to enable Filestream)
IIS
- IIS version 7.5 or later
Ports
The following ports are used by IntelliFront BI and need to be opened. The firewall must also allow access to the below ports.
- Port 27018
- Port 50255
Crystal Reports
If you will use Crystal Reports in IntelliFront BI, one of the following Crystal Report Runtimes for .NET must be installed.
- Crystal Report 2011 runtimes (13.xx)
- Crystal Report 2013 runtimes (13.xx)
IntelliFront BI installer will automatically install Crystal Report 2013 runtimes by default.
Firewall & AntiVirus
The following should be whitelisted or excluded from any firewall, anti-virus or spyware scan.
- All folders and files under C:\Program Files\IntelliFront
- IP Address or Server Name of the machine executing schedules (on SMTP Server)
Folder paths may differ based on the path selected at installation.
Web Application Side
The prerequisites listed in this section pertain to all machines that will access IntelliFront BI through a web browser.
