In order to ensure successful installation & use of IntelliFront BI, all of the prerequisites listed must be met. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in some or all of the functionality not working as intended.
IMPORTANT: It is crucial to log in as the LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR on your server when installing the software. Once the installation is complete, you can operate the software as a regular user.
Server Side
The requirements mentioned in this section are for the server responsible for running the Gizmos and Reports. For prerequisites related to the web application aspect of IntelliFront BI, refer to the 'Web Application Side' section later in this article.
Operating System - Main
Make sure that one of the following Operating Systems is installed with all the latest service packs and updates before proceeding with the installation.
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2022
Operating System - Additional
-Installation must be run as an administrator
-User Account Control (UAC) must be turned off (Windows Server 2008)
-NET Framework 4.5.2 must be installed
-It needs to be on a multi-core CPU (4 core or more recommended)
-At least 20 GB of free disk space on your primary drive
-Minimum 16GB of Memory/RAM
User Account Controls (UAC) only need to be turned off for the installation of Intellifront BI. Once Intellifront BI is installed, you may turn UAC back on.
Note: Intellifront requires more than 8 GB of data to operate successfully.
Operating System - Server Roles
During the installation of IntelliFront BI, certain server roles will be activated. Depending on the security settings of the server, some roles may not be enabled by default. To ensure a smooth installation process, please make sure to enable the following options within the Server Manager, under Server Roles.
- .NET Extensibility version 3.5 and 4.5
- Application Initialization
- ASP.NET versions 3.5 and 4.5
- ISAPI Extensions and Filters
SQL Server
The following versions are currently supported.
- SQL Server 2008 R2
- SQL Server 2012
- SQL Server 2014
- SQL Server 2016 or later
By default, IntelliFront BI will set up a SQL Server 2016 Express instance during installation. You have the option to use any of the mentioned SQL Server versions if you plan to integrate the database into a SQL Cluster.
SQL Server - Additional
- Filestream must be enabled and configured (How to enable Filestream)
IIS
- IIS version 7.5 or later
Ports
To ensure smooth operation, IntelliFront BI utilizes specific ports that must be opened on the firewall for access.
- Port 27018
- Port 50255
Crystal Reports
To utilize Crystal Reports in IntelliFront BI, you must install one of the compatible Crystal Report Runtimes for .NET listed below.
- Crystal Report 2011 runtimes (13.xx)
- Crystal Report 2013 runtimes (13.xx)
IntelliFront BI installer will automatically install Crystal Report 2013 runtimes by default.
Firewall and Anti-Virus Protection
To ensure the security and smooth operation of IntelliFront BI, it is important to configure your firewall and anti-virus software correctly. Make sure to whitelist or exclude the following from any firewall, anti-virus, or spyware scans:
- - All folders and files under C:\Program Files\IntelliFront
- - The IP address or server name of the machine executing schedules (on the SMTP Server)
Folder paths may differ based on the path selected at installation.
Web Application Side
The prerequisites listed in this section pertain to all machines that will access IntelliFront BI through a web browser.
