Crystal Reports CSV Exports
Deliver the File Your Next Business Process Needs.

Replace recurring manual exports with a configured file-production and delivery job in CRD. Prepare the structure, name and destination the receiving system requires. All CRD functionality is included in your licence, with no paid feature add-ons.
Maintain the required CSV separator and delimiter settings.
Produce meaningful file names for recurring handoffs.
Deliver to the approved folder or transfer destination.
Validate the file in the application that must consume it.
The Receiving File Challenge
A Successful Export Is Not the Same as an Accepted File.
A vendor or finance process may need exact headers, dates and identifiers. CRD repeats the configured export and delivery, while your agreed file specification defines the result.
The Structure Has to Match
The receiving application expects the required fields, headers and quoting.
Small Changes Can Break the Handoff
A date order or lost leading zero can change how a record is interpreted.
The File Has to Arrive Correctly
The name, destination and reporting period are part of the delivery requirement.
Why Choose CRD
Produce the Recurring File Your Receiving System Expects
Choose CRD to maintain export settings, naming, timing and destination around the file your next process needs.
SAP Crystal Server
CSV Export and File Delivery
SAP Crystal Server exports CSV and supports file delivery, including SFTP.
Scheduled CSV delivery can supply files to an established reporting destination.
CRD
A Maintained File Handoff
Export settings: configure the supported separator, delimiter and runtime export mode.
File naming: include the required date, time or other available values.
Delivery: use the folder or supported transfer destination your receiving process requires.
Two production routes: export an existing Crystal report or use a configured database-query task.
Exceptions: define what happens when the report is blank or delivery fails.
All CRD export, task and delivery functionality is included in the licence at no additional feature cost.
An Agreed Daily Transaction File
For example, a daily transaction file needs CustomerID, PostingDate and Amount headers, comma separators and double-quote qualifiers. Validate a sample in the receiving system before scheduling the recurring delivery.
Keep the Identifier
CustomerID: 00123. Confirm that the leading zeros survive the export and import.
Use the Required Date
PostingDate: 2026-10-28. Check the agreed year-month-day order.
Match the Numeric Value
Amount: 1250.00. Verify the decimal character, quoting and field boundaries.
Deliver and Import
Check the agreed file name, transfer destination and actual test ingestion.
Choose How the Required Data File Is Produced
An RPT export and a database-query workflow are different routes. Select the one that fits the source and receiving specification.
Export an Existing Crystal Report
Use CRD’s CSV output settings with your existing report and the compatible Crystal runtime.
Create a File From Database Data
Use a configured Automation Custom Task when the handoff needs query results rather than an RPT export. Automation functionality is included in the CRD licence.
Maintain the Delivery Requirement
Keep the recurring timing, output name and approved disk, network or transfer destination in the reporting workflow.
Maintain the File Contract Across Reporting Runs
Choose the required content first, then check the exact file that the receiving application will read.
Separators and Delimiters
Set the supported character or tab separator and delimiter to match the receiving requirement.
Runtime Export Mode
Use the applicable standard or legacy CSV mode for the installed Crystal version. Check its formatting behavior with your report.
Names and Extensions
Use the output-name settings and available Inserts for the required name. A different extension changes the name, not the data format.
Add the Processing Your Handoff Needs
Use a configured task or script when the receiving system needs changes beyond the export settings. Validate the finished file through its complete import process.
Import the Trial File Into the Receiving Application
Use the free 30-day trial with the actual receiving specification. Inspect headers, dates, quoting, encoding, decimals and leading zeros, then perform a test import. A successful upload alone does not establish that the receiving process accepted the file.

Your CSV Handoff Questions, Answered
Practical questions about recurring files and receiving-system requirements.
Yes. CRD’s CSV settings allow a character or tab separator and a delimiter character. Use the receiving specification and check the actual exported file.
The CSV guide identifies legacy mode for Crystal versions below 2008 and standard mode for Crystal 2008 and later. Evaluate the mode available for your installed runtime and the exact output it produces.
Do not assume the displayed report and exported CSV will match in every case. Check date order, decimals, leading zeros and identifiers in the actual file and receiving application. Any proposed transformation needs separate configuration and testing.
Yes, through an applicable configured Automation Custom Task. This is separate from exporting an RPT file. Automation and data-driven workflow functionality is included in the CRD licence at no additional feature cost.
No. A customized extension can meet a naming requirement, but it does not convert or repair the file contents. Select and validate the required export settings.
A configured report, query, transformation and SFTP handoff do not establish a native or certified bank or ERP integration. Agree the receiving specification and test actual ingestion with that system.
CRD includes additional text and data output routes, subject to their runtime and format settings. Choose the actual file contract rather than assuming CSV, tab-separated text, XML and layout-oriented exports are interchangeable.
